Scope: Rehabilitation of Highway Reward mine

Location: Charters Towers, QLD

The rehabilitation of the Highway Reward mine-site included a diverse range of activities to be completed.

All contaminated material from the ROM pad and Tailings dam had to be placed into the open cut. 85 hectares of waste dumps were regraded, topsoiled and revegetated. Drainage works were re-profiled and extensive rock gabion and mattress structures were constructed.

Site works also included removal of maintenance and office facilities, construction of safety bunds, deep ripping and rehabilitation of first flush ponds
